Synopsis Anyone else got proper dĂ©jĂ  vu? New Year's Eve. Sarah is working - again. Nick is her only customer - again. Same old same old. Except this year, their countdown to midnight will be the strangest they have ever known. Why is an executioner Dalek targeting these two people, in this place, on this night? Why are they having to live through the same moments? Can the Doctor, Yaz and Dan save them and survive into the New Year? Cast Crew Details Genres Cast Director Producers Writer Cinematography Composer Studio Country Language Genres Popular reviews More god yaz and the doctor are so cool i wish gay people were real The arguments are not in good faith. This was a traditional Doctor Who story, with a time loop, Daleks and plenty of running up and down corridors, yet still some 'fans' protest. Wouldn't have anything really to do with Yaz having feelings for the Doctor now would it? Anyway, this has been deleted a ton already, so I'll just say Aisling Bea, I really like Dan and Flux was brilliant. Number 2 in my 52 Films by Women in 2022 challenge. My actual review has been deleted from the app đŸ„ČđŸ„ČđŸ„Č thanks Letterboxd. đŸ€Ź Not gonna review it again just want to say...đŸłïžâ€đŸŒˆđŸłïžâ€đŸŒˆđŸłïžâ€đŸŒˆđŸłïžâ€đŸŒˆđŸłïžâ€đŸŒˆđŸłïžâ€đŸŒˆđŸłïžâ€đŸŒˆđŸłïžâ€đŸŒˆđŸłïžâ€đŸŒˆđŸłïžâ€đŸŒˆđŸłïžâ€đŸŒˆđŸłïžâ€đŸŒˆ2022 i really really liked this. also dan is the number one thasmin shipper confirmed. It wasn't gonna take a lot to attempt to bounce back from the mess that was Flux and its pitiful finale, The Vanquishers, however Eve of the Daleks has done this in possibly the worst way imaginable. All the usual hallmarks of the Chibnall Era are here, the horrific lighting, the flat and bland direction, sleep inducing musical score, very inconsistent visual effects, poor writing and the side characters were incompetent on a whole other Daleks are treated as a joke once again and the props looked extremely off, almost as if they hadn't been kept in storage and just left outside to rust. I can at least give Nicholas Briggs the benefit of praise as his Dalek
Aisling Bea career getting even bigger after the bad Home Alone movie she's in, she's absolutely delightful in this New Year's special of Doctor really think Chibnail and crew excel in the specials, as it's a singular episode untied to the season's myriad well, it's a nice follow-up to the Flux storyline, which was solid up until the last two episodes when there were too many plates spinning to resolve anywhere near TARDIS looking damaged from the Flux event is a pretty fun exploration as well, that there's still scars from that story arc we're dealing one of my favorites of the Jodie Whittaker era as well. Looking forward to the last four specials for her Doctor. Also, the time loop mechanic in this episode is very, very fun and uniquely an all around fun episode of Doctor Who to ring in the New Year. Even though I’m not huge on a lot of Chris Chibnall’s Doctor Who stories but I’ve grown to really love Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor and her companions. Yaz and Dan balance out the Doctor really well and I really enjoyed this New Year’s special. It feels the most New Year’s out of all the specials so far, having an interesting claustrophobic time loop premise that I enjoyed a lot. Really great special overall. Check it out. 52 films by women 2022 1/52. Oh, for fuck's sake, it's a seasonal special. There is absolutely precedent for these being up on Letterboxd. All of the other ones are. And yet here I am, having just typed a review I was very proud of, watching the fucker disappear into the void yet again because some jumped-up little shit on TMDB keeps ruining the party. I'm sorry if it isn't true kino like all the seasons of Marvel TV shows you daren't pull this shit with but let people who like old British nerd shows have their This was good, a possible metaphor for the difficulty of breaking out of a year's worth of destructive routines and having
My Doctor Who Christmas and tv show spent all New Year’s Day watching season 13 or better known as the special series called The Flux just so that I could watch this today too. I made it
well barely. I ended up watching this way past my bedtime. I loved it! It’s New Year’s Eve at a “Elf Storage” with a time loop! Groundhogs Day is even mentioned in this movie too!!It was sad saying goodbye to Graham and Ryan last season. I loved The Flux series!! I really was happy with how it showed pretty much all of Doctor Who’s enemies. And to help the TARDIS reboot the Doc and fam definitely needed a vacation, I’m
These bitches gay, good for them. Really fun! Had a few internet issues getting this to work on BBC IPlayer and wasn't the smoothest of viewing experiences, but Chibnall always raises his game when dealing with the Daleks and this wraps up a nice trilogy that began in Resolution even if that is my favourite - warts and all. Aisling Bea is the highlight here - stepping in from This Way Up as the same character and having a great time. Jodie is of course great, some development on the 13/Yas relationship is always welcome, and it's a nice bookend to a year of mostly great time travel stories and loops outside of Who. John Bishop's Dan is the best recurring character of the Chibnall era of Who, hands down though. His interaction with the Dalek is gold.
AARONMUTANT: You underestimate me, Doctor. Daleks survive. RYAN: Doctor, do something! DOCTOR: I'm sorry, Aaron. I miscalculated. AARON-MUTANT: You will take me to the Dalek fleet. Resist and this body will be destroyed. RYAN: Doctor, do something. DOCTOR: Fine. YASMIN: Doctor, seriously? DOCTOR: My decision. Whatever you want. Just promise me

The 2020 holiday special is subtitled Revolution of the Daleks and looks set to be a memorable experience both for long-term fans and those who started watching more recently. Take a look below to find out how to watch the Doctor Who Christmas special online. It’s important to note that we’re only recommending official sources. Additionally, Revolution of the Daleks will be shown in several countries around the world, and you can watch for free in many locations, meaning there’s no reason to resort to shady, unreliable sources. The Doctor Who special will only be shown on geo-restricted platforms. As such, if you’re traveling abroad this holiday season, you’ll need a Virtual Private Network VPN to watch on your usual services. How to live stream the Doctor Who Christmas Special from abroad Luckily, accessing region-locked services is very easy with the right VPN. Read on for a quick, five-step guide to streaming Doctor Who abroad. Here’s how to watch the Doctor Who Christmas Special online from anywhere Start by choosing a suitable VPN. We recommend NordVPN but Surfshark and ExpressVPN are two fantastic alternatives. Next, download the app, making sure to install it on any device you plan to stream on. Usually, you’ll be permitted five simultaneous connections, but this number varies. Decide which of the official Doctor Who broadcasters you’d like to access. Connect to one of your VPN’s servers in the required country. You’d use a British server to unblock BBC iPlayer, for instance, or an Australian server to watch ABC iview. Finally, try watching something. Your video should load right away but if it doesn’t, clear your cookies and try again. If problems persist, switch servers or contact your VPN’s support team for more in-depth advice. The 2020 Doctor Who Xmas special will be broadcast live, which is why we recommend making sure your VPN works properly ahead of time. By spending a few minutes testing things in advance, you can avoid missing the start of the episode due to last-minute technical trouble. Many major VPNs offer around-the-clock support via live chat in case you need help troubleshooting. How to watch the Doctor Who Xmas special for free on UK TV The BBC produces Doctor Who, so it should come as no surprise that the holiday special will be available exclusively on BBC iPlayer. The new episode will be shown live and made available on demand shortly after airing. As such, there’s no need to worry about missing it if you have other plans on New Year’s Day. This service is completely free to use, although you will have to create an account before you can watch anything. Doing so only takes a minute though, and while you’ll be asked for a UK postcode, any will work. Currently, all 12 newer seasons are available on-demand in case you’d like to catch up ahead of the special episode. Perhaps the holiday special has you nostalgic for the old days of the series? If so, you’ll find 26 seasons of classic Doctor Who on Britbox. Normally, you’d have to pay £ per month to watch, but there’s a 30-day free trial included. As such, you can sign up, watch your fill, and cancel to avoid being charged. BBC iPlayer and Britbox are both geo-restricted. However, with a VPN, you’ll be able to access them as normal from abroad. NordVPN comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee that allows you to try it completely risk-free. If you’re not impressed, just cancel for a full refund. Where else can I stream the Doctor Who Christmas Special online? Whovians around the world won’t have to wait too long, since this year’s festive episode will be released almost simultaneously in multiple countries. Here’s how to watch wherever you are US The 2020 Doctor Who Christmas special will be shown on BBC America at 8 PM EST 5 PM PST on January 1. You can sign in with your cable provider details to watch at no added cost, but don’t worry there’s also a way to stream the Doctor Who special for free without cable. BBC America lets you sign in with a fuboTV, YouTube TV, or Philo account. These services are an expensive way to watch one episode, though, considering their prices range from $20–65 USD per month. However, each comes with a one-week trial period two weeks for YouTube TV. This allows you to sign up, watch Doctor Who, and cancel before your payment method is charged. Want to watch older episodes ahead of the special? You’ll find all 26 seasons of classic pre-2005 Doctor Who on Britbox. This costs $ per month and includes a seven-day free trial. The 12 newer seasons are exclusive to HBO Max, which costs $ per month and no longer offers any kind of trial period. All of these streaming platforms are geo-restricted and only available in the US. However, by connecting to an American VPN server, you should be able to access them from anywhere. Canada Doctor Who fans in Canada can stream the Christmas special at the same time as it’s shown in the US 8 PM EST on January 1. There’s a catch, though it’ll only be shown on CTV Sci Fi. This is unfortunate, since at the moment, CTV does not support any over-the-top streaming services and cannot be watched online without a cable TV subscription. On the other hand, Crave has all of the previous Christmas specials and the 12 most recent seasons, so it’s not a huge stretch to imagine that Revolution of the Daleks will be added at some point too. Prices start at $ CAD per month, but there’s also a seven-day trial that will allow you to watch for free whenever the new episode is added. CTV and Crave are usually only accessible in Canada. That said, after connecting to a Canadian VPN server, you’ll be able to use these services as normal, wherever you are. Australia There’s a slight delay for Australian viewers, with Revolution of the Daleks arriving on January 2. This episode will be streamed live on ABC iview, but will be added to the service’s on-demand library shortly afterward, so don’t worry if you miss it. ABC iview is free to use, and you don’t even have to create an account before streaming. The only downside is that it has a poor selection of previous episodes; essentially just whichever reruns were shown on TV recently. Stan $10 AUD per month, 30-day free trial has seasons 1–11, but unfortunately, the only way to watch season 12 online is to buy it on platforms like Google Play and iTunes. ABC iview and Stan are region-locked, meaning you’ll need a VPN to access them from outside of Australia. What can fans expect from the 2020 Doctor Who holiday special? As ever, the BBC has released a trailer that gives us a pretty good idea of what to expect from this year’s Doctor Who special. The biggest announcement is, of course, the return of Captain Jack Harkness John Barrowman, who now boasts godlike abilities. These will be exceptionally helpful, especially considering the trailer shows Daleks causing chaos down on Earth while the Doctor Jodie Whittaker languishes in an intergalactic prison. Will Yaz, Graham, and Ryan be up to the task of stopping the Doctor’s oldest enemy? You’ll have to tune in to find out.

2020-11-29T192507Z Doctor Who Revolution of the Daleks is a stand-alone special that will see the Doctor face off with one of the series’ most iconic enemies — the a press release, showrunner Chris Chibnall teased where the special will pick up after the cliffhanger at the end of season 12.“We pick up with the Doctor in prison. She’s been taken by the Judoon at the end of the last series and we’ll be picking up with her there. Some time has passed, she has been in prison for a very long time,” Chibnall revealed. “She’s struggling. Back on Earth Yaz, Graham and Ryan are struggling to figure out their lives without the Doctor. It’s been 10 months for them since they’ve seen the Doctor and at the beginning of this they discover the presence of a Dalek.”Jodie Whittaker, who plays the Thirteenth Doctor, said that it’s “definitely a team effort throughout” to fight the Daleks in the special, and Mandip Gill, who plays the Doctor’s companion Yasmin Khan, added that Yaz has a real sense of urgency to find the Doctor. “Yaz has a really complex and different connection to the Doctor than the two boys for loads of personal reasons,” said Gill. “So I think it would be safe to say that she is struggling without the Doctor but is probably trying that bit more than the boys to solve this. Probably because there was just no conclusion and that’s a little bit distressing for her but also she has a connection with the Doctor and with Space. She loves being in Sheffield, but there’s just something about Space, and the Doctor that’s just not been fulfilled yet. So there’s just more a sense of urgency with Yaz trying to find the Doctor.”And Whittaker said that this special and the upcoming new season will disrupt the family as viewers know it.“As the Doctor I will say that the fam as a four is no more,” said Whittaker, with Chibnall adding, “I can tell you that it’s very emotional, I think we’ve all been in tears watching it. It’s a really important part of the mix of the special, where you get lots of thrills, lots of spills, lots of humour, lots of Daleks, and lots of emotion. It’s hard, but we don’t shy away from what it means for this family to have its final moments together. And it was emotional off screen, it’s emotional on screen, and it’s an incredible thing. “Because it’s like you said Jodie, you all clicked, and you just never know if that’s going to happen. You could never have known that you would all get on and have such a great time, and I think we all feel very lucky that that happened. And that’s reflected on and off screen, but I hope it feels like a good send off for those two characters whatever happens to them.”Doctor Who Revolution of the Daleks airs Friday, January 1 at 8 ET/PT on BBC America.

In "Revolution of the Daleks," Captain Jack will be on hand to help the Doctor and "the fam" as they discover a disturbing plan forming involving the Daleks. With the Doctor locked away in a space prison, will Captain Jack be able to help save planet Earth?"Putting on Jack's coat and setting foot back on the set of Doctor Who was just like going back home," Barrowman says. "It's always thrilling to play Captain Jack. He's a character very close to my heart who changed my life, and to know the fans love him as much as I do makes his return even sweeter. I hope everyone enjoys Jack's heroic adventure with Thirteen."Doctor Who executive producer Chris Chibnall adds, "A Doctor Who holiday special means treats galore, and there's no bigger treat than the return of John Barrowman to Doctor Who, for an epic and emotional feature-length episode. If anyone can blast away the sheer rubbishness of 2020, it's Captain Jack. Daleks beware!"Matt Strevens, Executive Producer BBC Studios, says, "After a tantalisingly brief appearance in "Fugitive of the Judoon," it's a total joy and thrill to welcome back John as Captain Jack. One of the most iconic characters in Doctor Who lore, his presence ignites this holiday special from the start."0commentsJodie Whittaker currently leads Doctor Who as the Thirteenth Doctor. She's joined in the Tardis by Mandip Gill as Yaz, Tosin Cole as Ryan, and Bradley Walsh as Graham. "Revolution of the Daleks" will be Cole and Walsh's final Doctor Who episode.
